It is no surprise that in Chicago, we take our pizza very seriously. Crowned the prestigious title of “#1 Pizza in Illinois” by NBC Chicago and a “Top 5 Pizza in the Country” by the Food Network (along with many other honors) is Pequod’s Pizza.
Boasting a fun, laid-back ambiance, friendly staff, and a pan pizza with a notorious caramelized crust, you won’t want to miss it.
While their pan pizza is what draws people in, if that’s not your style, Pequod’s offers a thin crust pizza as well as soups, salads, and sandwiches. For those who traditionally aren’t a fan of the dense, thick stuffed pizza Chicago serves up, we still recommend you give the pan pizza a try here. Unlike others, this pizza has a well-crafted balance of cheese, crust, and toppings–not one component overcompensating the other.
During our visit, two of us split a “half” salad and a small (10in) pan pizza–leaving us feeling the perfect amount of full by the time we were finished. The gooey cheese juxtaposed with the crunchy crust provides a unique combination that will you leave you excited to return for another visit!
Pequod’s Pizza has two locations: one in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood and the other in the suburb of Morton Grove. If you aren’t feeling like dining in, they also provide delivery and carry out.
This pizzeria may not be one you see on every corner in Chicago, but it’s definitely one worth going out of your way to visit!
