Chicago Waffles is a breakfast and brunch restaurant conveniently located a quick, 3-minute drive away from McCormick Place in the South Loop. It provides an assortment of drool-worthy breakfast items for a great price–sure to satisfy both your empty stomach and wallet.
Upon walking into Chicago Waffles you are hit with the smell of doughy breakfast foods and sweet maple syrup. The festive lights and small Christmas trees set the perfect ambiance, since our visit was in December.
A visit to Chicago Waffles would be incomplete without sampling their notorious Bacon and Chicken Waffle, a heavenly combination of savory and sweet that is only $5.99 on weekdays. While you may have had chicken and waffles before, I bet you’ve never tasted it with smokey bacon bits in the waffle batter. This sends the flavors over the edge.
The Waffle Flight is guaranteed to steal the show every time. It’s undoubtedly the most Instagrammable platter. It consists of red velvet, chocolate, and green tea waffles, topped with blackberry, strawberry, bananas, and hazelnut chocolate. The chefs even add the prettiest strawberry rose. If you’re unsure about which waffle suites you best, this flight is for you.
The menu at Chicago Waffles extends far beyond pancakes and waffles. You can order an omelet or eggs in a skillet. The Veggie Delight skillet was a great alternative to what we already had ordered. The diced potatoes and fresh veggies made the most delicious bed for two over-easy eggs.
If you find yourself in the South Loop a little later in the morning or afternoon, Chicago Waffles has burgers and pulled pork sandwiches in addition to its already huge menu.
This small and homey breakfast restaurant is highly recommended, especially if you’re in the South Loop. It will give you fuel for the busy day ahead!
